As a design organisation focused on Rural Futures, Feeldwork has a genuine concern for the environment, and we recognise that climate change is one of the defining global challenges of our time. We therefore firmly believe that embracing green best practices is our social and moral responsibility. We strive to continually assess and reduce our overall environmental impact and are committed to making environmental responsibility an integral part of our operations and activities.
As a responsible organisation we aim to:
operate in a sustainable manner, with due consideration to Scotland’s culture & society, environment, and economic wellbeing. We will recognise, and make use of, the power art and design has in all its forms to inform, raise awareness, celebrate, and challenge issues around sustainability and the environment.
We will;
Prevent unnecessary pollution into the environment;
Seek to reduce our carbon emissions within SMART annual targets;
Maintain policies on ethical investment, energy, resources and food;
Comply with all relevant legislation and regulations, both locally and nationally.
Reduce the amount of waste produced and where possible, recycle this waste responsibly.
Reduce the consumption of raw materials, water and fuels.
Educate staff on best practices to help reduce environmental waste within the studio.
Use recyclable, renewable and sustainable materials where possible.
We are working towards B Corp status and will make our environmental impact report live when this is completed.
Our Organisation
Working in a sustainable way is embedded within our core organisational behaviours. We see managing our people well, including supporting staff to maintain a good work-life balance and promoting activities focused on health and wellbeing.
We strive towards continual improvement in reducing the adverse environmental impact caused through the provision of our operations.
The goods and services we buy have sustainability implications and we will use our procurement process to explore with suppliers, where relevant, whether there are options to help us reduce environmental impact.
Company Travel
As a policy to reduce our carbon footprint, we do not fly for in-person meetings within the UK. We use public transport for our journeys and car share where possible if public transport is not available or we are unable to use it due to equipment restrictions.
Our Website
Our website is hosted with SiteGround who in turn use Google's Cloud based servers to host all their websites. Google runs some of the most energy efficient servers in the world with many running on renewable energy, Google are themselves a carbon neutral company.
Studio Workflow
All stationery we use in the studio is either produced from recycled products or from FSC certified forests.
Outbound Deliveries
