RADICAL RURAL FUTURES
Rural places are on the frontlines of the world’s most urgent challenges, climate instability, biodiversity loss, food insecurity, and the transition to net zero. They are not only impacted by these pressures—they are essential to addressing them. But too often, rural communities are excluded from decision-making and future-making.
We believe rural areas are sites of radical potential. Our Rural Futures work brings design thinking, cultural strategy, and community co-creation to support bold, grounded transitions in rural places.
What we do
We work with rural communities, organisations, and local authorities. Our Rural Futures work includes:

Using participatory design, ethnography, and cultural programming to explore lived experiences and future possibilities.Prototype new rural infrastructures
Collaborating on initiatives that test new models of access, care, economy, and mobility—tailored to the needs and strengths of rural places.Challenge dominant narratives
Through storytelling, publishing, and advocacy, we amplify underrepresented rural voices and reframe what rural means today.
